Stacking can help boost fine and gross motor skills and help your baby develop better eye-hand coordination. They also help babies learn about spatial relationships (like under and on), and shapes. Overall, they’re a great learning tool. Plus, they generally don’t take up a ton of space and are fairly simple to clean.

AGE: From 36 months
Our baskets were made by a group of women basket weavers (mothers and grandmothers) in the Northern Province of Rwanda, so you can be sure of their exceptional quality. And since they are handmade, expect some differences in size and pattern.
Woven baskets are made from two types of grass: a thicker, stronger grass for the structure and a finer, softer grass for the weave.
Weaving requires a lot of precision and patience. It usually takes about six days to complete the baskets, in between other household tasks. The income generated will help the women cover their daily expenses, school fees and even teach this ancient skill to other women and preserve the Rwandan tradition.
* CARE
To enjoy your baskets for many years, be sure to : Wipe them down with a slightly damp cloth to clean them. Do not leave them in direct sunlight (this preserves the beautiful colors longer).
